Reliability Framework v1.2

The Asset Management Landscape provides the controlling architecture for this Reliability framework. Within the AM Landscape, Integrated Reliability identifies reliability as a distinct subject within the broader asset management system. This Reliability Framework expands this into a practical set of subject groups that explain how reliability is defined, governed, designed, understood, controlled, executed, measured, improved and enabled across the asset life cycle.

Readers are encouraged to use the framework as a common language for discussion between leaders, asset managers, operations, maintenance, projects, supply chain and data functions; as a structure for assessing current reliability capability and identifying gaps; and as a guide for building improvement roadmaps that balance cost, risk and performance.

The Maintenance Framework is an important companion publication. This Reliability Framework follows its publication style and descriptor discipline, but it is not a maintenance framework using reliability terminology. Maintenance is treated as a vital interface and contributor to reliability, while reliability itself remains broader than maintenance. It is now planned to update the Maintenance Framework to ensure that all three documents clearly articulate the relationship.
